UNFPA works to improve the lives of people in more than 150 countries around the world, where 80 percent of the world's population is concentrated. In Latin America and the Caribbean, we have offices in 30 countries.
UNFPA acts as a catalyst for progress by working with governments and in close collaboration with other UN agencies, civil society, academia, faith-based organizations and the private sector. We make a real difference in the lives of millions of people, especially those in the most vulnerable situations.
To this end, we support the generation and use of population data to improve decision-making in public planning. We provide technical assistance to expand opportunities for country action, as well as policy advice and national capacity building.
UNFPA is focused on solving tomorrow's challenges today. We help countries use data on their populations to assess and anticipate their needs, and to monitor progress and gaps in meeting our promises.
